6,000 Seatbelt fines issued in 1 month in Abu Dhabi

It’s been reported in Abu Dhabi that in just 1 month 6,000 fines were issued for not wearing a seatbelt, highlighting one of the worst months on police record.

Abu Dhabi Police have issued various campaigns to stress the importance of wearing seatbelts and despite this the number of fines increased. Each offender received a AED 400 fine and received 4 black points on their traffic record.

They stress that “studies have shown to reduce the risk of death by 40% – 60% in case of an accident.

Please take care on the roads and remember to wear your seatbelts at all times.
